Kali Uchis is wrapping up her highly anticipated sold out Sincerely, tour. This being her first solo arena tour, Uchis takes the dreamy and impactful messages of her 5th studio album "Sincerely," to the stage in a way we haven't seen from her before. Showcasing music from throughout her discography, English and Spanish records alike Uchis showed genuine dedication and care for her craft with this tour and seeing it first hand was one of the best decisions I have made this year.

Our country is undoubtably being put in a polarizing place with voices from government supporting harmful and discriminatory groups such as ICE, especially when it comes to our countries hispanic population. Uchis bravely and proudly included an entire visual, not only praising the hispanic community but disbarring the message our government and ICE is pushing onto our society and community that something is "wrong" with being proud and hispanic or that there is something to be ashamed of with working and making life's quality better for not only oneself but ones families and such as well.

Being a Mexican American with two grandparents who immigrated from Mexico, it is so important to see people speak up for our community and it is even more important to see call outs to the wrong doings that the government has placed onto our people. Seeing someone as popular and with as much reach as Kali Uchis holds speak on this proves that not only can anyone join in on the conversation as well but everyone should use their platforms to stay loud, and to stay proud.
